Dr. Clark, originally from central Montana, joined Drs Akre and Simpson in 2003 before he became partner and the name was changed. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Dr. Huisken, native to Southwestern MN, joined the practice of Akre and Clark in 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, and her doctorate of optometry from Pacific University College of Optometryin Forest Grove, Oregon.

Dr. Oie, originally from Lake Crystal, graduated from University of Northwestern St. Paul with a Bachelors in Biology. She received her doctor of Optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, graduating with the highest distinction. During Optometry school, Dr. Oie was a member of the American Optometric Society, Michigan Optometric Society, Minnesota Optometric Society, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, and the student representative for the class of 2017.

Dr. John Gutfleisch Dr. Gutfleisch grew up in Waseca. Received a degree in biology and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in Houston Texas. He joined his father , Milton Gutfleisch, in practice in 1974, being a 3rd generation optometrist in the family. He recently sold the practice to Akre/ Clark planning to work part-time seeing existing patients. Professionally Dr. Gutfleisch has been a lifelong member of the American Optometric Association and Minnesota Optometric Association. In 1981 he became an associated member of the College of Optometrist in Vision Development and in 1982 a Charter member of the AOA Contact Lens Section. Over the years he was active and served on the board for the Waseca Jaycees, the Waseca Chamber of Commerce and Jobs plus. Dr. Fox is originally from Blue Earth, MN. She graduated summa cum laude with a major in Biology from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry when She graduated summa cum laude in 2016.
Prior to starting with Drs. Akre and Clark, Dr. Fox developed her extensive clinical experience in Cleveland VA, Pediatrics at Illinois College of Optometry, the Cornea and CL Institute of MN, and working at private practice in southern MN.
Currently, she is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Minnesota Optometric Society. She is also a member of the Lion’s club and enjoys spending time with her husband and son.

Our staff has taken the steps to prepare you for the first appointment by providing a full spectrum of the services we offer and the option to complete our new patient form prior to your visit. Our goal is to cover everything you need with a full and efficient assessment, but without waiting to see the doctor.
